I used Govindas to cater for a special event and it was the best idea ever, for exquisite food filled with love that is absolutely incredible, generous, ethical and delicious, Govindas were outstanding. Catered for my gluten free vegan guests and amazing vegetarian wholesome food that was incredible.

I recently had the absolute delight of savouring Govindas’ catering at two unforgettable events: the Kagyu Samye Dzong Johannesburg Temple gathering and the magical Mahashivratri celebration hosted by Isha Johannesburg. Let me just say—this is vegetarian Satvic food at its finest in Gauteng!
From the first bite, my taste buds danced with joy. Each dish was a masterpiece—fresh, vibrant, and bursting with authentic flavours that felt like a hug for the soul. Think fragrant curries, fluffy dhals, perfectly spiced curries and desserts that melted into pure bliss. Satvic cuisine often walks a delicate line, but Govindas nails it: wholesome, nourishing, and unapologetically delicious.
What truly elevated the experience was their spectacular service. Ratna Mataji and her team radiated warmth and professionalism, ensuring every guest felt cared for. They arrived on time, set up seamlessly, and maintained grace under pressure, even during bustling events. Plus, their prices are incredibly reasonable—proof that exceptional quality doesn’t have to break the bank!
But here’s the cherry on top: Govindas is an NPO (Non-Profit Organization) meaning every rand spent on their catering flows directly into supporting the temple and its sacred activities. It’s heartwarming to know that indulging in their food also nourishes a greater purpose.
